Job summary

Metlifecare’s Golflands village cafe is seeking a friendly Cafe Assistant for a permanent part-time Sunday shift (8:30 am to 3:30 pm). You will deliver excellent service to residents, family and friends, prepare beverages, assist with food prep, handle the till, and help with in-kitchen duties.

This role offers a supportive team in a retirement village setting. Experience in customer service and a warm, reliable demeanor are key; a Hygiene & Food Handling Certificate is helpful but not

Qualifications

• Exceptional customer service skills and a vibrant, welcoming personality.
• Mature, reliable with good communication.
• Hygiene & Food Handling Certificate (not essential) and/or commercial kitchen experience.

Responsibilities

• Take food and beverage orders from residents, visitors and staff.
• Make amazing cups of coffee on a semi-automatic machine.
• Serve and collect meals in the café.
• Assist the Cook with food prep in the Kitchen.
• Operate the cash register.
• General cleaning including café equipment and washing up in the kitchen.

About the role
We are looking for a fabulous and vibrant Café Assistant to work at our in stunning village in Golflands – Fairway Gardens. Reporting to the Food Services Manager, you will be providing exceptional service and a great dining experience to our residents, family and friends!

This is a permanent, part-time position working Sunday 8.30am to 3.30pm = 6.5hrs week.

There may also be the opportunity for you to pick up additional shifts also.

Some of the great things you will be doing:

• Taking food and beverage orders from our residents, visitors and staff
• Making amazing cups of coffee (semi-automatic machine)
• Serving and collecting meals in our café
• Assisting the Cook with food prep in the Kitchen
• Operating the cash register
• General cleaning including café equipment and washing up in the kitchen

About you
You have exceptional customer service skills and a vibrant and welcoming personality.
