Job summary

Summerset Retirement Villages in Prebbleton is opening a brand-new cafe and seeking a friendly Café Assistant to join our village team. You will help deliver great coffee, light meals, and warm service to residents, families and visitors, working closely with the Chef Manager, Café Supervisor and wider village team.

Two part-time shifts are available: Sunday to Thursday 9:30am–3:30pm and Friday to Monday 9:30am–3:30pm, commencing 2 November with two weeks of full-time paid training

Summerset Prebbleton is preparing to open the doors to its brand-new cafe – a stunning addition to our already vibrant village community. With its beautiful location this new space will be the jewel in our crown – and we’re looking for a friendly, energetic Café Assistants to help bring it to life.

Job Description

We believe that a great cup of coffee and a warm smile can brighten anyone’s day. We're more than just a café, we’re a community hub, a space for connection, and a team that supports and looks out for each other. We’re now looking for a Café Assistant for our Prebbleton villagewho shares our love for people and hospitality.

You’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth running of our café. From making great coffee to creating tasty cabinet food and light meals, you’ll help make our café a warm and welcoming place for residents, their families, and visitors. You’ll work closely with the Chef Manager, Café Supervisor, and wider village team to deliver a café experience that’s welcoming, consistent, and genuinely enjoyable. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Preparing, presenting, and serving food and drinks to a high standard
• Assisting with catering for village events and resident functions
• Handling cash and reconciling daily takings

We have two positions available:

• Sunday to Thursday, 9:30am to 3:30pm
• Friday toMonday, 9:30am to 3:30pm

These roles will commence on the 2nd November and will begin with 2 weeks of full-time paid training. Training hours are 8:00am - 4:30pm.

You will bring a warm and positive approach to everything you do, along with:

• A warm, friendly personality with great customer service skills
• Excellent communication and the ability to multitask
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
