Job summary

Stand Forestry in Rotorua, Bay of Plenty, New Zealand, is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support a major integration programme. This 6-month fixed-term role sits in our Rotorua office and involves working across operational, commercial, finance and technology teams to translate business needs into clear requirements and delivery plans.

You will facilitate workshops, document current and future state processes, and ensure data requirements align with the wider Stand operating model.

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support a significant integration programme. Working across operational, commercial, finance and technology teams, you will help turn business knowledge, challenges and ideas into clear processes, requirements, decisions and delivery plans. This is a 6-month fixed term role located in our Rotorua office.

This is a hands‑on role for someone who can move comfortably between frontline operations and executive conversations. You will connect the detail within individual workstreams to the wider Stand operating model, data requirements and systems architecture—helping ensure decisions made in one area work for the business as a whole.

What you'll be doing

• Facilitate workshops with workstream teams and subject matter experts.
• Document current-state processes, pain points and dependencies, and define practical future-state processes.
• Capture and prioritise clear, testable functional and non-functional requirements.
• Translate operational and business needs into requirements that technology teams and vendors can deliver.
• Identify key data, reporting, ownership and business-rule requirements across processes.
• Connect business requirements with solution and integration design, working closely with architects and technical specialists.
• Identify cross-workstream dependencies and raise impacts early.
• Challenge duplication, manual handling, workarounds and legacy complexity before they are carried into the future environment.
• Prepare concise process packs, decision papers, options assessments, acceptance criteria and supporting analysis.
• Help workstream leads translate objectives into practical priorities, deliverables and implementation activities.

What we’re looking for

• Senior-level business analysis experience across process mapping, requirements, facilitation, options analysis and data analysis.
• Strong systems literacy, including applications, integrations, APIs, master data and reporting.
• Confidence working with frontline, field-based and senior stakeholders, and the ability to simplify complex issues.
• A practical, delivery-focused and enterprise-wide mindset, with sound judgement and constructive challenge.
• Experience in forestry or another field-based or asset-intensive industry is desirable but not essential.
• A collaborative, curious and low-ego approach, with a willingness to get into the detail.
