Job summary

84 Recruitment Limited is recruiting a Senior Business Analyst in Auckland for a global ERP environment. You will own the BA voice on NetSuite-driven distribution and manufacturing processes, and coordinate upgrades and new modules from our Auckland office.

You’ll collaborate with users across regions, lead small projects, and mentor an Intermediate BA while shaping strategic improvements and rapid issue resolution.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a BA, able to drive solutions to implementation.
• Strong ERP experience with NetSuite and distribution/manufacturing focus.
• Experience working with end users across functions, locations and levels of technical confidence.
• Experience in distribution or manufacturing preferred.
• Exposure to integrations, EDI, release management or upgrade programs.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in business analysis, information systems, technology or finance, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure NetSuite and connected systems meet business needs, focusing on distribution and manufacturing modules.
• Oversee the Freshdesk support desk; triage tickets and maintain global responsiveness.
• Gather and challenge requirements; model processes and identify improvements.
• Assess risks, benefits, dependencies and implications of proposed changes.
• Prepare functional specs, options papers, cost estimates and benefits.
• Document requirements, impact assessments, approvals, testing evidence and change control.
• Lead small projects and assist with larger initiatives, including subsidiaries onboarding and integrations.
• Manage external implementation and partner day-to-day delivery.
• Evaluate NetSuite releases and coordinate remediation.
• Maintain process, system and support documentation.
• Coach and support an Intermediate Business Analyst.

Our client is a successful NZ-headquartered group that designs, manufactures and distributes essential high-performance components for customers around the world. It has a long track record of growth. Its trading businesses globally utilise Oracle NetSuite, with many recent implementations delivered across distribution and manufacturing operations.

Behind that platform is a small, high-performing business systems team in Auckland. They don’t have layers of bureaucracy. They have capable people who know the business, look after each other and do things properly.

They’re now looking for a Senior Business Analyst to become a cornerstone of that team.

What you’ll do

• Make sure NetSuite and its connected systems keep meeting the needs of the business, with a particular focus on distribution and manufacturing modules, integrations, user administration and upgrade readiness.
• Oversee the Freshdesk support desk: triage and manage support and enhancement tickets, and keep responsiveness high for users worldwide.
• Gather and challenge requirements, model processes and identify improvements with users and stakeholders.
• Assess the risks, benefits, dependencies and wider implications of proposed changes before they’re approved.
• Prepare clear functional specifications, options papers, recommendations, cost estimates and benefit assessments.
• Take solutions through proper due process: documented requirements, impact assessment, stakeholder approval, testing evidence, change control and post‑implementation review.
• Lead small projects and contribute to larger ones, including onboarding new subsidiaries, introducing new modules and delivering integrations.
• Manage external implementation and application partners in day‑to‑day operations and project delivery.
• Evaluate new NetSuite releases and coordinate any remediation they need.
• Maintain accurate process, system and support documentation.
• Coach and support an Intermediate Business Analyst.

What you’ll bring

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst. You can investigate complex problems, evaluate options and take solutions all the way to implementation.
• Strong ERP experience. NetSuite is highly regarded, but if you come from another major ERP and pick up new systems quickly, we’d still love to hear from you.
• Experience working directly with end users across different functions, locations and levels of technical confidence.
• Experience in distribution or manufacturing (preferred).
• Exposure to integrations, EDI, system releases, scripting changes or technical upgrade programmes (a strong plus).
• A relevant tertiary qualification in business analysis, information systems, technology or finance, or equivalent practical experience.
