Job summary

CBRE Asia Pacific in Auckland is seeking an intermediate Building Surveyor to deliver high-quality consultancy advice to a diverse client base. You will participate in due diligence, dilapidations, CAPEX planning, and project monitoring while building long-term client relationships.

The role requires a degree in Building Surveying and MRICS chartership or active pursuit of the APC, with a strong grasp of the NZ Building Act and Building Code.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in building surveying.
• MRICS chartered or actively pursuing the APC within 6–12 months.
• Strong understanding of the NZ Building Act and Building Code, defect diagnosis, and building pathology.
• Experience in commercial consultancy and client-facing roles.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality commercial advice from a consultancy perspective to a diverse range of investors, landlords and occupiers.
• Assist with technical due diligence, make good & dilapidations, CAPEX planning, project monitoring and schedules of condition.
• Build long-term client relationships while working with a national consultancy team.

The Opportunity

• Intermediate building surveyor recently RICS chartered
• Deliver high-quality commercial advise from a consultancy perspective to a diverse range of institutional investors, landlords and corporate occupiers across all asset classes.
• Experienced and able to assist with technical due diligence, make good & dilapidations, CAPEX planning, project monitoring and schedules of condition.
• Build long-term client relationships while working alongside an experienced national consultancy team.

As The Successful Candidate You Will Be

• Degree qualified (building surveying) with likely 2-5 years commercial consultancy experience
• Recently MRICS chartered or actively pursuing the RICS APC with the intent to sit the final assessment within the next 6-12 months.
• Strong understanding of the NZ Building Act and Building Code, Proficiency in defect diagnosis, commercial building pathology and general construction types
• A desire to work with the country’s largest projects and clients.
