Backpackerboard is offering bud thinning roles on our Auckland orchard with immediate start. Earn an hourly rate with bonuses for targets met and enjoy discounted accommodation for self-contained vehicles.

Roles require staying on site, outdoors work, being on your feet all day, and meeting height and fitness basics. Expect 5–6 days per week with flexible scheduling, including weekends. Bond is required but refundable when facilities are left tidy.

Job description

We have bud thinning positions available for immediate start on our orchard in Auckland

• Hourly rate plus bonuses available for targets met
• Discounted accommodation rate for self contained vehicles ($80pp/pn)

This role requires a reasonable level of physical fitness and endurance - you need to be adept with being on your feet all day and working in outdoor conditions. The fruit is grown under a canopy, which requires your height to be 166cm or taller.

There are usually 5-6 days of work available per week, however you may need to be flexible. You can expect to be offered work from Monday through to Sunday at times.

Ideal candidates will be able to commit to several weeks.

There are full accomodation facilities (Shared) available with options for onsite cabins or for your self contained vehicles. The accomodation is tidy, modern and comfortable. There is full cooking facilities, hot showers, games room lounge facilities.

A bond is required, which is refundable upon your departure providing the facilities are left tidy, with no damage.
