Job summary

Asahi Beverages is seeking a hands-on Brewing Team Leader for our Papakura site. You will lead ~10 operators, manage rosters, and drive safety, quality and efficiency on the brew floor. A practical, floor-focused leader who loves beer and continuous improvement will fit best.

You’ll be on the floor daily, coach the team, participate in tastings, and collaborate with maintenance, QA and planning to keep production running smoothly and to high standards.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years’ experience leading teams in brewing, FMCG, food or beverage production environments
• Brewing background or sound understanding of brewing operations is beneficial
• Confident managing rosters, performance, development and day-to-day people matters
• Hands-on leadership style with willingness to work on the brewery floor
• Strong problem-solving skills with experience driving improvement initiatives
• Commitment to safety, quality and operational standards
• Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office
• Experience using SAP would be beneficial

Job description

We’re looking for a people-focused Brewing Team Leader to help lead our brewing operations at our Papakura site.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll spend time out in the brewery, supporting your team and keeping operations running safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

You’ll lead approximately 10 operators on shift, manage rosters and performance, and work with the team to solve operational issues and identify practical improvements. You’ll also play an important role in maintaining the quality and consistency of our products, including participating in tastings and sensory assessments.

Key Responsibilities

About You

You’re a practical and approachable people leader who enjoys being close to the operation and supporting your team to perform at their best. You’ll bring a genuine interest in beer and brewing, along with a strong appreciation for product quality and consistency.

You’ll also bring:

• At least 1–2 years’ experience leading teams in brewing, FMCG, food or beverage manufacturing, dairy, or a similar production environment
• A brewing background or sound understanding of brewing operations would be highly beneficial
• Confidence managing rosters, performance, development and day-to-day people matters
• A hands-on leadership style and willingness to spend time on the floor
• Strong problem-solving skills and experience supporting improvement initiatives
• A strong commitment to safety, quality and operational standards
• Confidence using Excel and Microsoft Office
• Experience using SAP would be beneficial
