Job description

Port of Auckland is New Zealand's largest import port and a critical gateway supporting the economic growth of Auckland and the wider region. As the Port continues to grow and evolve, we are rolling out new brand elements and focussing on consistency across the port to reflect who we are today, and where we are heading in the future. This is a unique opportunity to help shape and deliver a highly visible programme that will leave a lasting legacy across the organisation.

We are looking for an experienced Brand Manager on a 12 month fixed-term contract, to provide stewardship and ensure consistency across channels and infrastructure as we roll out some new brand elements, in one of New Zealand's most complex and visible operational environments.

This is a unique opportunity to shape how a brand shows up across everything from digital channels and documentation through to signage, infrastructure, plant, and machinery. Working closely with senior leaders, operational teams, and external partners, you will balance brand ambition with operational realities to deliver practical, lasting outcomes.

Success in this role will come from your ability to coordinate and execute by building strong relationships and find creative solutions in an environment where no two branding challenges are the same.

At Port of Auckland, we embrace High Performance, High Engagement (HPHE) ways of working. We believe the people closest to the work are often best placed to help solve problems, so we're looking for someone who can bring people on the journey, work collaboratively, and help deliver meaningful change.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the project management and delivery of the Port's new brand elements.
  • Plan, coordinate and execute branding activities, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables.
  • Deliver branding across digital channels, infrastructure, signage, plant, machinery, and business systems.
  • Establish and embed standards, governance processes, and guidelines.
  • Ensure consistent application across customer, employee, and stakeholder touchpoints.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders, operational teams, suppliers, and agencies.
  • Develop communication and stakeholder engagement plans that support successful implementation.
  • Manage external suppliers, agencies, budgets, contracts, and performance outcomes.
  • Identify and elevate risks, issues, and opportunities while keeping stakeholders informed of progress.
  • Ensure a smooth transition to ongoing ownership of brand assets, standards, and governance at programme completion.
