Placements24 is assisting a leading enterprise solutions provider to hire a Blockchain Architect in Queenstown. The role combines design and implementation of scalable distributed ledger solutions for large-scale clients, with a hybrid in-office and remote setup.

You will lead architecture efforts, select platforms (Hyperledger Fabric, Corda, Quorum/Private Ethereum), mentor teams, ensure security and compliance, and stay ahead of blockchain trends, partnering with clients and analysts.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software architecture with ≥4 years in enterprise blockchain
• Deep knowledge of Hyperledger Fabric, Corda, Quorum or private Ethereum
• Strong cryptography, consensus, and smart contract experience
• Experience with cloud integration for blockchain solutions

About the Role

Our client, a leading enterprise solutions provider, is seeking a visionary Blockchain Architect to join their growing team in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. This role is instrumental in designing and implementing robust blockchain solutions for large-scale enterprise clients across various industries. You will be responsible for translating complex business requirements into secure, scalable, and efficient distributed ledger architectures. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of enterprise blockchain platforms, such as Hyperledger Fabric, R3 Corda, or enterprise Ethereum variants, along with a strong grasp of cryptography, consensus mechanisms, and smart contract development. You will collaborate closely with clients, business analysts, and development teams to ensure successful project delivery and integration. This position offers a Hybrid work arrangement, allowing for a blend of in-office synergy in Queenstown, Eastern Cape, and remote flexibility, promoting a balanced and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect end-to-end enterprise blockchain solutions tailored to client needs.
• Evaluate and recommend appropriate blockchain platforms, frameworks, and technologies.
• Develop high-level and detailed technical designs for blockchain networks, including nodes, smart contracts, and integration points.
• Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to gather and document business and technical requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure solutions meet stringent security, privacy, and compliance requirements.
• Develop proof-of-concepts and prototypes to demonstrate the value of blockchain solutions.
• Create comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture diagrams and implementation guides.
• Stay current with emerging trends and advancements in enterprise blockchain technology.
• Mentor junior architects and developers on blockchain best practices.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience in software architecture, with a minimum of 4 years focused on blockchain solutions for enterprises.
• In-depth knowledge of enterprise blockchain platforms like Hyperledger Fabric, R3 Corda, Quorum, or private Ethereum networks.
• Strong understanding of distributed ledger technology, consensus algorithms, and cryptographic principles.
• Experience in designing and implementing smart contracts and distributed applications.
• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their integration with blockchain.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and client-facing skills.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage complex projects.
• Ability to work effectively in a Hybrid capacity from our Queenstown, Eastern Cape office.
