Job summary

The Ministry for Primary Industries is seeking a Biosecurity Support Officer for a fixed-term, full-time role in Christchurch (Burnside). The team provides essential business support to Border Clearance Managers and frontline staff, including reception, data entry, and travel bookings.

This is an office-based role with standard hours Monday to Friday, 8.00am–4.30pm. We value adaptability, strong systems and process orientation, and a collaborative spirit.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of administration and business support systems and processes.
• Front facing, office experience advantageous.
• A drive to deliver an exceptional customer experience in every interaction.

• A high level of organizational skills, the ability to deliver on time and solve problems as they arise.

Responsibilities

• Reception 8.00-4.30pm daily.

• Managing a team email inbox and responding to emails.

• Processing invoices and ordering goods.
• Assisting with other Operational Support functions.
