Job summary

The Precision Medicine Initiative (PMI) at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland seeks a Bioinformatician for a 24-month fixed term. You will design and deliver accredited clinical pipelines and contribute to research projects in clinical genomics, using Python, R or Stata to create reproducible workflows.

We require strong core bioinformatics skills, experience with sequencing data interpretation, and the ability to communicate complex results.

Qualifications

• Strong core bioinformatics skills with experience in sequencing data interpretation.
• Ability to design, implement, and execute reproducible workflows.
• Excellent communication within team and with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and delivery of accredited clinical pipelines.
• Quality assurance and interpretation of sequencing data.
• Contribute to variant curation and materials for clinical meetings (e.g., molecular tumour boards).
• Involvement in research projects aligned with PMI’s translational goals.
