Crown Equipment seeks a field-based Battery Technician in Auckland to repair and maintain forklift batteries across our customer network. You will learn Crown products and use service training materials to grow your skills while delivering reliable, trusted support.

This permanent, full-time role offers overtime opportunities and a strong team environment within a large organisation, with emphasis on customer service and safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year's Material Handling Equipment experience or Auto Electrical or Battery experience or Automotive trade qualification.
• Customer-centric and solutions-focused attitude; team player and IT savvy.
• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual handling; pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol test required.

About the role

This diverse role will see you based in Auckland where you will be part of the team where your role will be performing field-based repairs and maintenance on the batteries of a large fleet of our Forklifts for our customers across your assigned area. We have a significant number of different models within the Battery Electric category of our Forklifts, giving you the opportunity to develop and increase your skills. And all whilst ensuring that we provide exceptional service to our customers - the greatest purpose of our teams is to work together with our customers and support them to keep their businesses on the go!

You’ll have the chance to learn our products, and this will give you the opportunity to progress in the business and the organisation. Crown product knowledge would be a real bonus, but we have heaps of great training materials, if you’re a willing learner!

This is a permanent, full time role, working Mondays to Fridays with the opportunity for some paid overtime.

Requirements

About you

Ideally, we’re looking for candidates with a minimum of 1 year's Material Handling Equipment experience or Auto Electrical or Battery experience or Automotive trade qualification (or similar overseas qualification).

To really shine in this role, you'll bring your customer-centric and solutions-focused attitude, as you support our valued customers with service they can trust. You'll work in a collaborative team environment, so being a team player and being prepared to support the team is essential. Being IT savy and an agile learner will stand you in good stead.

The ability to build rapport and relationships should be one of your strengths as is your attention to detail and you’ll be IT savvy too. There will be manual handling required and so you’ll also need to be physically fit.

Please note, a full pre-employment medical, including a drug & alcohol test, as well as valid drivers’ license will be required.
