Job summary

EY Christchurch is seeking a BAS Intermediate / Senior Accountant to join our Private Clients team. You will deliver accounting, tax and advisory services across a diverse portfolio of clients locally and internationally as they grow and evolve.

You will mentor junior teammates, build strong client relationships, and apply commercial and technical insight to deliver practical, high-quality solutions in a collaborative, inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting; CA ANZ or CPA (completed or in progress).
• Experience in financial reporting and New Zealand tax.
• Strong relationship management with ability to work across teams and clients.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; proficient with Excel, PowerBI or Xero.

We are seeking a BAS Intermediate / Senior Accountant to join our Private Clients team in Christchurch. In this role, you will deliver a broad range of accounting, tax and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple industries.

Our clients span the full business lifecycle, from fast-paced start-ups through to established organisations, high net worth individuals and household names. You will work with clients both locally and internationally as they grow and evolve.

You will play a key role in delivering high-quality client outcomes while contributing to a collaborative and inclusive team culture.

We’re looking for a proactive and motivated professional with strong technical capability and a collaborative mindset.

• Relevant degree in Accounting; CA ANZ or CPA (completed or in progress)
• Experience in financial reporting and New Zealand tax, with an understanding of market trends
• Strong relationship management skills with the ability to work effectively across teams and clients
• Well-developed communication skills and proficiency with tools such as Excel, PowerBI or Xero
