Job summary

Finch Recruitment– Auckland, North Island, on behalf of a progressive Chartered Accounting and Advisory firm, invites an ambitious Intermediate Accountant to join a collaborative team. You will accelerate your career with mentoring from Partners, work across accounting, tax and advisory work, and gain exposure to a diverse client base.

From day one, you’ll build client relationships, prepare financial statements and GST returns, and use cloud accounting tools like Xero.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a Chartered Accounting practice.
• Strong technical accounting skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Willingness to continue learning and develop advisory capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage client relationships.
• Prepare financial statements and tax returns.
• Prepare GST returns and other compliance work.
• Assist with monthly management reporting.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts and cashflow reports.
• Support clients with Xero and cloud accounting solutions.
• Contribute to business advisory projects with senior team members.

The Opportunity

Working with a varied client portfolio, your responsibilities will include:

• Building and managing client relationships
• Preparing financial statements and tax returns
• Preparing GST returns and other compliance work
• Assisting with monthly management reporting
• Preparing budgets, forecasts and cashflow reports
• Supporting clients with Xero and cloud accounting solutions
• Contributing to business advisory projects alongside senior team members

About You

• At least 2 years’ experience within a Chartered Accounting practice
