Job summary

Sage Restaurant in Hamilton East is seeking a hands-on Bartender to join our team and help deliver high hospitality standards. You will lead by example behind the bar, assist in drink curation, and support the front-of-house team during peak service.

We welcome 2+ years of bar experience, LCQ is a plus, and a passion for wine, cocktails and quality guest service. Earn $25-$30 per hour, 25–30 hours a week, Tue-Sat, with Christmas/New Year and Easter closures.

Qualifications

• 2+ years bar experience preferred; LCQ is a plus.
• Excellent knowledge of bar, wine and cocktails.
• Ability to work in a busy restaurant environment.
• Organized, reliable and guest-focused.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the bar and beverage operation.
• Assist in drink curation and menu development.
• Support the FOH team during service and maintain high standards.

Sage Restaurant has been bringing a modern dining experience to Hamilton East for the past three years. We serve seasonal shared plates made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients, alongside a carefully selected range of wines, beers and handcrafted cocktails.

We're looking for a Bartender to join our team and help us continue delivering the high level of service and hospitality our guests expect.

The Role

This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys being behind the bar, leading by example and creating a great experience for both guests and the team.

You'll be responsible for:

• Helping oversee the bar and beverage operation
• Assisting in drink curation and menu development
• Supporting the FOH team during service and maintaining consistently high service standards
• Providing warm, knowledgeable and attentive guest service

We're looking for someone who:

• 2 years+ bar experience preferred, LCQ a plus
• Has excellent bar, wine and cocktail knowledge
• Is confident working in a busy restaurant environment
• Has a genuine passion for food, wine, cocktails and great service
• Is organised, reliable and calm under pressure
• Enjoys being part of a close-knit team and takes pride in creating memorable guest experiences
• Has full availability across our opening hours, Tuesday - Saturday
