Job summary

Central Fire Station Bistro in Napier, Hawke’s Bay, NZ, is seeking front-of-house stars for evenings only. The role covers bar tending and floor service with a smile, speed and a bit of flair. Training on our Food Bible and wine list will be provided to confidently present dishes, answer questions and suggest pairings.

Hours are typically 3 pm until close, five days per week, with a minimum 3-month commitment. A lively team culture encourages delivering unforgettable guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Experience in cocktail making and wine service preferred.
• Strong floor service experience and ability to thrive under pressure.

Join Our Team at Central Fire Station Bistro!

Love mixing cocktails and taking care of guests on the floor? We’re after front-of-house legends who can do both—bar tending and waiting—with a smile, speed, and a bit of flair.

Central Fire Station Bistro is a lively, Hatted restaurant open evenings only, six days a week (closed on public holidays).

We pride ourselves on our supportive team culture—everyone pitches in, whether it’s delivering great service, mixing drinks, or keeping the restaurant sparkling. (Yes, cleaning is a shared responsibility!)

To keep you sharp, we provide ongoing food and wine training. You’ll also study our “Food Bible” and wine list so you can confidently present dishes, answer questions, and recommend pairings.

What we’re looking for:

• Bar tending skills (cocktails + wine service at the table)
• Strong floor service experience
• Ability to thrive under pressure
• Attention to detail + a great team spirit

The role:

• Hours: 5 days per week, typically 3 pm until close
• Evenings only
• Minimum 3-month commitment (the longer, the better!)
