Job summary

QT Wellington's bar is not your average pour-and-move-on kind of place. EVT Limited seeks a Bar Supervisor who can lead the floor and bar, rally a team and maintain high standards behind the scenes and on the guest experience.

You'll work with the Venue Manager to drive daily bar operations, train front-of-house staff, manage rostering and costs, and uphold WHS and SOPs while delivering warm, polished service in one of Wellington's distinctive hotel bars.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a bar supervisory or senior bar role within a premium hotel or high-volume venue.
• A strong knowledge of beverage, cocktails and bar operations with an eye for quality and presentation.
• Experience supporting a team, including training, rostering and motivating front-of-house staff.
• Confidence with POS systems including Micros and Respak.
• A current LCQ/Manager's Certificate and Responsible Service of Alcohol certification.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build great relationships across departments.
• Immaculate personal presentation and a professional, positive attitude under pressure.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example on the floor and behind the bar, delivering warm, polished service that reflects the QT brand at every interaction.
• Support the Venue Manager in driving daily bar operations across service, staffing and standards, including effective rostering to ensure all shifts and events are well covered.
• Assist with training, inductions and ongoing development of front-of-house staff, maintaining formal training plans and conducting on-the-job coaching sessions.
• Monitor and report on wage and beverage costs daily, assisting with stock management, weekly and monthly beverage stock takes and supplier liaison.
• Oversee bar presentation, cleanliness and security through daily, weekly and monthly inspections, recording and communicating any maintenance issues promptly.
• Implement and uphold bar SOPs, opening and closing procedures and service checklists, ensuring consistency and compliance at all times.
• Work alongside the F&B, Sales and Marketing teams to contribute to business development ideas, early activations and event planning.
• Maintain compliance with WHS, food safety and sustainability requirements throughout all bar operations.

The Role

QT Wellington's bar is not your average pour-and-move-on kind of place and we need a Bar Supervisor who gets that.
