Job summary

New Zealand Government seeks Bail Support Officers to gather, analyse and present information to support judicial decisions. You will prepare detailed reports, including Electronic Monitoring Bail Suitability Reports and Bail Information Reports, ensuring timely, balanced information reaches the courts.

You will work with defendants, whānau, defence counsel and social service providers to develop bail proposals and support plans, using a holistic, client-centered approach.

  • Candidates must hold a Full New Zealand Drivers License

Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyse and present information to support judicial decision-making.
  • Prepare high-quality written reports, including Electronic Monitoring Bail Suitability Reports and Bail Information Reports.
  • Ensure courts receive accurate, balanced information within strict timeframes.
  • Work with defendants, whānau, defence counsel and a range of social service providers to prepare bail proposals and develop bail support plans.
