Job summary

Civil Aviation Authority Of New Zealand is seeking an analyst to contribute to New Zealand's aviation security system and national security landscape. You will combine information from multiple sources, test assumptions, and produce evidence-based assessments for decision makers, working with intelligence professionals across agencies.

Ideal candidates will have strong analytical capability, experience in risk and policy environments, and the ability to communicate complex issues clearly.

Qualifications

• Experience producing intelligence, threat, risk, policy or strategic assessments.
• Analysing complex/incomplete information to support high-stakes decisions.
• Identifying trends and future implications from diverse sources.
• Writing concise, evidence-based reports for senior leaders.
• Presenting complex issues clearly to influence decisions.

Responsibilities

• Help build New Zealand's understanding of emerging threats, risks and vulnerabilities affecting civil aviation and national security.
• Draw together information from multiple sources, apply rigorous analytical techniques, test assumptions, and produce assessments for decision makers.
• Engage with agencies across the intelligence community and transport sector to inform security planning and regulatory responses.
• Support development of well-reasoned insights that stand up to scrutiny and influence strategic decision-making.
