Job summary

Muster Limited in Petone, Lower Hutt, seeks an experienced Automotive Technician to join a busy, independent workshop. You will handle general servicing, repairs and diagnostics across a broad range of vehicles, ensuring high standards while maintaining a safe work environment.

The role offers varied work, a hands-on environment and a negotiable hourly rate based on experience, with flexible hours. NZ residency or valid work rights are required.

Qualifications

• NZQA Level 4 Automotive qualification or equivalent.
• Solid automotive servicing and repair experience.
• Good diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Current NZ Driver Licence.
• Ability to work confidently across a range of vehicles.
• Good practical skills and a strong approach to workplace safety.
• Welding experience would be advantageous.
• Current WOF Inspection Authority would be a significant advantage.
• Current New Zealand residency or valid NZ work rights.

Responsibilities

• General servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Mechanical repairs across a variety of makes and models.
• Diagnostic and fault-finding work.
• Cambelt replacement and associated repairs.
• Using tyre and workshop equipment.
• Completing work to a high standard while maintaining safety.
• WOF inspections, if you hold a current inspection authority.
