Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Automotive Systems Engineer in Queenstown to lead vehicle integration across powertrain, chassis, electrical and software domains. Define system requirements, architectures and integration strategies to ensure seamless interaction of complex vehicle subsystems.

You will collaborate with electrical, software and mechanical teams, perform system-level testing and validation, analyze data, and document interfaces and test reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ years of automotive systems engineering experience with a focus on vehicle integration.
• Strong understanding of automotive architectures including CAN/LIN, ECUs and sensors.
• Experience with SysML/MBSE.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and data acquisition systems.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and debugging skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration in a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

• Define system requirements and architecture for vehicle integration projects.
• Develop and manage integration plans for powertrain, electrical, body, and ADAS systems.
• Coordinate with electrical, software, and mechanical teams for system compatibility.
• Perform system-level testing and validation to identify and resolve integration issues.
• Analyze vehicle performance data and troubleshoot complex system malfunctions.
• Create and maintain system documentation and interface definitions.
• Contribute to simulation models for system integration analysis.
• Ensure compliance with automotive standards and regulations throughout integration.
• Support vehicle calibration and tuning activities related to system integration.
