Job summary

Jora New Zealand is seeking a Mechanical Technician for a busy workshop. The role covers technical testing, advanced mechanical assembly, and quality validation within our automotive engineering team.

You’ll handle dynamometer setups, telemetry interpretation, and reports, along with hands-on fitting from CAD models. Leadership of junior staff and adherence to NZTA safety is expected.

Qualifications

• Qualification at Diploma level or at least two years' experience.
• Excellent communication skills and strong analytical abilities.
• Ability to manage complex technical projects within set timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Set up engine and chassis dynamometers and interpret telemetry for reports.
• Hands-on assembly, part modification, and precision fitting from CAD models.
• Diagnose electromechanical failures and perform non-destructive testing.
• Draft SOPs and oversee calibration schedules and material planning.
• Mentor junior technicians and supervise workshop workflow.
