Job summary

Automotive Employment NZ Ltd. in Christchurch is seeking a qualified Auto Electrician with strong diagnostic and electrical repair capabilities to join our team.

You will diagnose and repair electrical faults, install and maintain systems, and support field service and customer callouts as required. Experience on forklifts or heavy equipment is preferred, and modern electrical systems knowledge is essential.

Responsibilities

• Use modern diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve faults.
• Work across a range of equipment and machinery.
• Field service work and customer callouts when required.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and customer service.

• $38 - $44.50 per hour, dependent on skills and experience

Skills sought

• Relevant Auto Electrical trade qualification
• Proven experience as an Auto Electrician, preferably on forklifts and/or heavy equipment
• Solid automotive electrical diagnostics, fault-finding and repair skills
• The ability to confidently identify electrical faults and complete repairs independently.
• Experience working with modern electrical and electronic systems is essential.

Forklift, heavy vehicle, agricultural, construction or other equipment experience would be advantageous, however candidates with strong light automotive auto electrical backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
