Job summary

Baker Tilly International in Wellington is seeking an Intermediate Auditor to join our growing audit team. You will work on a diverse portfolio of clients, gaining hands-on experience and building your technical capability in a supportive, mid-tier environment.

As part of a close-knit team, you will plan and perform audits, develop client relationships from planning through to completion, and pursue meaningful career progression while maintaining work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Qualified or close to qualifying as a Chartered Accountant.
• Audit experience in a chartered accounting firm or public practice.

Responsibilities

• Plan and complete audit assignments for a diverse range of clients.
• Get to know each client’s organisation, systems and financial reporting requirements.
• Prepare clear, well-supported audit documentation and deliver high-quality engagements.
• Build trusted client relationships and communicate from planning through to completion.
• Collaborate closely with managers, partners and other audit team members.
• Continue developing technical knowledge, commercial awareness and professional judgement.

The opportunity

We are looking for an engaging and motivated Intermediate Auditor to join our growing Wellington audit practice. As part of our 12-person audit team, you will gain hands‑on experience across a diverse portfolio of profit and not‑for‑profit organisations.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys audit, builds rapport easily with clients and colleagues, and is keen to sharpen their technical capability while building a long‑term career in public practice.

What you will be doing

• Plan and complete audit assignments for a diverse range of for‑profit and not‑for‑profit clients.
