Fisher Paykel Healthcare – East Tamaki, North Island

Fisher & Paykel Healthcare is seeking an Associate Systems Specialist role to support their IT Business Solutions programme.

This role is aimed at someone who is naturally curious, enjoys understanding how things work, and is motivated by finding better ways of doing things. It will suit someone who asks 'why', is not satisfied with the status quo, and prefers improving how things work over simply following process.

The Opportunity

This role will sit alongside a team of experienced and professionally qualified Project Managers and Business Analysts, together with a Change Manager, supporting a portfolio of over 100 projects.

The Business Solutions portfolio includes a wide range of enterprise initiatives across the business, providing exposure to complex delivery environments, structured governance and cross-functional problem solving.

This is a strong opportunity for someone with a data and systems mindset, combined with a genuine curiosity for how things work and how they can be improved.

About the Role

This role is focused on enabling delivery through better use of information, tools, systems and structured thinking — helping ensure business needs are understood, practical improvements are identified, and systems are used effectively.

It is not a traditional coordinator role — the value comes from improving how information is captured, understood and used across the programme, while supporting delivery teams to work more effectively.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Creating and maintaining programme and systems artefacts, including project sites, dashboards, resource plans, support material and knowledge bases.
  • Supporting Project Managers, Business Analysts and the Change Manager with workshops and completing project documentation where necessary.
  • Enabling Project Managers and Business Analysts to work more effectively through the use of technology, tools and systems.
  • Driving more efficient ways of working by improving how data, templates, processes and tools are used.
  • Supporting the development of guidance, training material and practical documentation to help people use relevant systems and tools effectively.
  • Coordinating with stakeholders, ICT and suppliers where required to support issue resolution, improvements and clear communication.
  • Working with stakeholders to ensure improvements are practical, adopted and deliver value.
Skills & Experience

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is comfortable working with data and systems (Excel, SharePoint, Planview or similar) and takes ownership of accuracy.
  • Brings structure to ambiguity and can turn information into something practical and usable.
  • Writes clearly and produces documentation others can rely on.
  • Thinks critically, asks "why", and focuses on the problem we are trying to solve.
  • Uses problem-solving and root cause thinking to understand issues and identify practical improvements.
  • Looks for better ways of working and is not afraid to challenge how things are done.
  • Is proactive, adaptable and willing to take on a range of tasks across the programme.
  • Builds effective working relationships and communicates confidently with a range of stakeholders.

This role is suited to someone at an early stage of their career who has had exposure to project coordination, administration, or business support activities.
