Job summary

Kapiti College, a co-educational state secondary school on the Kapiti Coast, is seeking an ambitious associate principal to lead teaching and learning and curriculum across Years 9-13. Kapiti College is an outstanding co-educational Year 9-13 state secondary school on the Kapiti Coast. It has a roll of around 1,450 students, very strong NCEA results, a vibrant performing arts kaupapa, sports and cultural activities, and a strong ethic of service and student leadership.

We seek an ambitious associate principal to lead teaching and learning and curriculum across the school. This is a senior leadership role with genuine strategic influence, ideal for a leader who is hungry to grow, deepen their leadership practice, and has an eye for principalship in the future. You will drive high-quality teaching practice, curriculum design, and coherence from Years 9-13; strengthen assessment and progress tracking; support teacher professional growth; and ensure equitable outcomes for all learners.

Working closely with the principal and senior leadership team, you will help shape the school's academic direction while contributing to whole-school leadership, culture and operations. We are looking for a reflective, collaborative leader with proven curriculum and pedagogical expertise, the ability to inspire staff, and a clear desire to keep learning.
