Job summary

Rosewood Kauri Cliffs is seeking a dedicated Assistant Restaurant Manager to lead a boutique-lodge dining team. You will ensure an exceptional guest dining experience, coordinate the team, and support day-to-day restaurant operations including inventory, scheduling and quality control.

Ideal candidates bring a background in fine dining and wine service, supervisory F&B experience, and strong communication. This role offers a 45-hour week with a salary of NZ$70,000–NZ$72,000 per year and

• Background in fine dining and wine service is essential.
• Previous supervisory Food and Beverage experience in boutique lodges or 5-star properties preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset required.
• Strong guest-centric approach with attention to detail and professional presentation.
• Experience with Hospitality Management systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Ensure exceptional guest dining experience and smooth team coordination.
• Support restaurant operations including inventory management, scheduling and quality control.
• Lead and develop the restaurant team to uphold Rosewood standards.
• Maintain accurate records and uphold safety and hygiene practices.
• Collaborate with leadership to enhance guest connections and stays.

The Opportunity: Assistant Restaurant Manager

We are looking for a full-time permanent motivated, organized, and guest-focused Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our team at Rosewood Kauri Cliffs.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional guest dining experience and smooth team coordination and supporting operations of the restaurant, including inventory management, scheduling, and quality control. Your natural warmth and professionalism will be key in creating heartfelt guest connections and unforgettable stays.

What You Will Bring:

• A background in fine dining and wine service is essential
• Previous supervisory Food and Beverage experience in boutique lodges or 5-star properties, specifically managing VIP guest requirements
• Excellent communication and a team-oriented mindset
• A genuine passion for guest experience, with attention to detail
• Confident use of Hospitality Management systems
• Immaculate personal presentation
• Strong and effective communication skills, ability to establish relationships

This is a full-time salaried position for 45 hours over 5 days per week, offering $70,000 to $72,000 per annum (depending on experience). For any work that is required on the 6th or 7th day per week, time in lieu (at the equivalent hourly rate) will be accruable.
