Responsibilities

• Assist the Produce Manager in planning, organising, leading and controlling Produce Department operations.
• Contribute to the development and introduction of new products.
• Maintain consistently high presentation standards in Produce displays.
• Manage operations and production to meet customer requirements.
• Organise, lead and coach staff to deliver results.
• Ensure product standards and compliance with Food Safety requirements.
• Monitor and manage production to minimise waste and cost.
• Aim to meet Sales, Gross Profit and Wage budgets.

Job description

We are a large Supermarket in a very competitive area seeking an innovative, customer focused and enthusiastic assistant manager whose skills and attributes can be utilised in our Produce Department. We require someone with the ability and passion to continue to challenge, drive and grow the business.

The successful applicant is a person who can assist in the planning, organising, leading and controlling of the operations of a Produce Department.

This is a full time, waged position, reporting directly to the Produce Manager.

Key Responsibilities Include assisting the Produce Manager in:

• Further develop and introduce new products
• Ensure a consistently high level of presentation in the Produce Department
• Managing operations and production to meet customers’ requirements
• Organising, leading and coaching of staff
• Ensuring standards of all products are achieved and maintained
• The ability to fulfil Food and Health and Safety requirements
• Monitoring and managing production to minimise waste
• The achievement of Sales, Gross Profit and Wage budgets
