Job summary

Are you an experienced educator ready to take the next step in your leadership journey? Remuera Intermediate School is seeking an assistant principal/dean to join our senior leadership team.

This is a fully released senior leadership position with 5 PMU and an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the strategic direction, culture and day-to-day life of our school.

We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with intermediate-aged students and understands the importance of strong relationships with students, staff and families. You will lead across a year level, with responsibility for pastoral care, teaching and learning, curriculum implementation, mentoring and supporting team leaders, co-curricular programmes and experiences, including camps, and supporting successful transitions into and beyond Remuera Intermediate.

The right person will be a calm, capable and approachable leader who communicates exceptionally well and demonstrates sound judgement, empathy and a high degree of emotional intelligence. You will be able to manage multiple priorities, maintain high standards and show initiative, while remaining flexible, solutions-focused and supportive of others.

You will also understand that leadership in an intermediate school extends well beyond the office. We value people who are visible, connected and willing to get involved in the wider life of the school.
