Job summary

Snap Fitness Mt Wellington in Mount Wellington, Auckland seeks an Assistant Gym Manager to join our team. This Part/Full Time position supports the Gym Manager to deliver exceptional member service, maintain safety and cleanliness, and ensure smooth daily operations in our gym.

• Proven experience in fitness facility management, gym operations, or a similar customer-facing management role.
• Experience in Hospitality or Retail management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with gym management software systems and point-of-sale systems.
• Ability to multitask and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and evenings.

Snap Fitness Mt Wellington is seeking an Assistant Gym Manager to join our team in Mount Wellington, Auckland. This is a Part/Full Time Position that offers an exciting opportunity to develop your career in fitness facility management whilst supporting the smooth operation of our gym. As Assistant Gym Manager, you will work alongside the Gym Manager to ensure our members receive exceptional service and experience, whilst maintaining high operational standards across all areas of the facility. This role is pivotal in creating a welcoming, clean and safe environment that encourages members to achieve their fitness goals and remain loyal to Snap Fitness.

Key responsibilities

Assist the Gym Manager in overseeing daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, security protocols, and facility maintenance

Monitor and maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the gym

Provide excellent customer service to members

Support membership sales efforts and assist with new member inductions and orientation

Use gym software to maintain a strong membership base

Provide a safe and positive environment for all members and staff

What we're looking for

Proven experience in fitness facility management, gym operations, or a similar customer-facing management role within the Sport and Recreation industry or

Proven experience in the Hospitality or Retail management industry

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine passion for fitness and member engagement

Proficiency with gym management software systems and point-of-sale systems

Ability to multitask and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism

The ability to demonstrate equipment usage and maintain a professional appearance

A flexible approach to working hours, including weekend and evening shifts
