Job summary

Rushmore Distributors (NZ) is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join the Albany head office. You will provide accounting and administrative support to the Finance Team, focusing on AP, reconciliations, and month-end closing, reporting to the Finance Manager.

The role offers growth in a dynamic environment within a large international group, with a pathway to broaden skills in financial reporting and controls.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a finance or accounting role with high-volume AP experience.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Good time management and meeting tight deadlines.
• Experience with Pronto or similar accounting software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process high-volume accounts payable transactions and reconciliations.
• Manage credit card receipts and supplier statements.
• Prepare international payments and hedge records.
• Calculate monthly/quarterly rebates and assist with month-end close.
• Support GST/FBT returns and receivables as needed.
• Maintain filing systems and provide general admin support.
