NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi in New Plymouth seeks an Asset Manager to lead asset management and oversee maintenance programmes for the state highway corridor. You will work with contractors, authorities, and internal teams to ensure the network performs today and plans for tomorrow.
The role requires expertise in asset management, data interpretation, and pavement engineering, with field validation and inspections forming part of the duties. A tertiary qualification is expected.

Taranaki's transport network is critical to supporting regional growth, industry, tourism, and community connectivity. This role offers a rare opportunity to influence asset planning and maintenance decisions across a diverse network that connects urban centres, rural communities, and key freight routes.
As Asset Manager, you'll provide asset management expertise and technical leadership to support the development and oversight of maintenance and renewal programmes across Taranaki's state highway corridor.
Working closely with contractors, local authorities, technical specialists, and internal stakeholders to ensure the network continues to perform today while planning for tomorrow.
Your work will directly support evidence-based investment and operational decisions that keep the region's transport network running smoothly. For more information view the Position Description. Appointment salary is expected between $92,700 to $112,000 commensurate with skills and experience.
