Job summary

Green by Nature is hiring an Asset Maintenance Operator to look after parks, playgrounds and public spaces in Queenstown Lakes District. You will perform maintenance, inspections and minor repairs, while ensuring safety and asset integrity across multiple sites.

The role offers guaranteed hours with potential for more based on demand, a performance-based salary, and opportunities for training and career progression within a long-standing NZ-Australia operator.

Qualifications

• Broad range of handyman skills and maintenance experience preferred.
• Playground Inspection and Maintenance Course Level 2 is ideal but training can be provided.
• Full driver's licence with ability to drive a manual vehicle is essential.
• High attention to detail, strong work ethic and safety mindset.
• Excellent communication, reliability, punctuality, cooperativeness and positive working relationships.
• Able to work flexible hours to meet client requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Queenstown Lakes District Council playgrounds, sports courts, equipment, BBQs, bus shelters, waterways and parks furniture.
• Perform basic handyman tasks, playground inspections and minor repairs, aeration, cleaning, refurbishments and asset validation.
• Assist wider Lakes District team when required.

To support our mission, we're seekingan Asset Maintenance Operator.

What does an Asset Maintenace Operator do you ask?

Reporting to the Team Manager, you will be responsible for the maintenance of the Queenstown Lakes District Councils playgrounds, sports courts, sports/fitness equipment, BBQ's, bus shelters, waterways, and parks furniture throughout the district. Your duties will include, but not limited to, basic handyman functions, playground inspections and minor repairs, playground aeration, cleaning, refurbishments, and asset validation of all park assets. At times you may be required to assist the wider Lakes District team.

What we are looking for:

• You will possess a broad range of handyman skills and preferably have previous maintenance experience
• Ideally, you will have completed a Playground Inspection and Maintenance Course Level 2, however, this is not essential as we are willing to train the right person, however, you must be willing to attend the 2-day training course
• A current full driver's licence with the ability to drive a manual vehicle is essential
• A high level of attention to detail, have a strong work ethic and demonstrate a positive attitude towards working safely
• You will have excellent communication skills, be reliable, punctual, co-operative, and maintain positive working relationships
• You must be able to work flexible hours to meet the client's requirements
