Job summary

Green by Nature is seeking an Asset Maintenance Operator to care for Queenstown’s playgrounds, parks and assets. You will perform inspections, minor repairs, cleaning, and asset validation across the district, while supporting the Lakes District team and ensuring safety standards.

The role requires a broad handyman skill set, a willingness to train for a Playground Inspection and Maintenance Course, and a valid manual driver’s licence.

• Willingness to attend a 2-day Playground Inspection & Maintenance course if needed.
• Current full driver’s licence with manual vehicle capability essential.

To support our mission, we're seekingan Asset Maintenance Operator.

What does an Asset Maintenace Operator do you ask?

Reporting to the Team Manager, you will be responsible for the maintenance of the Queenstown Lakes District Councils playgrounds, sports courts, sports/fitness equipment, BBQ's, bus shelters, waterways, and parks furniture throughout the district. Your duties will include, but not limited to, basic handyman functions, playground inspections and minor repairs, playground aeration, cleaning, refurbishments, and asset validation of all park assets. At times you may be required to assist the wider Lakes District team.

What we are looking for:

• You will possess a broad range of handyman skills and preferably have previous maintenance experience
• Ideally, you will have completed a Playground Inspection and Maintenance Course Level 2, however, this is not essential as we are willing to train the right person, however, you must be willing to attend the 2-day training course
• A current full driver's licence with the ability to drive a manual vehicle is essential
• A high level of attention to detail, have a strong work ethic and demonstrate a positive attitude towards working safely
• You will have excellent communication skills, be reliable, punctual, co-operative, and maintain positive working relationships
• You must be able to work flexible hours to meet the client's requirements
