Job summary

Matamata-Piako District Council seeks an analytical Asset Data Officer to maintain and improve asset information across stormwater, transport, parks, buildings and more. You will work with asset mapping, management systems, and financial data to ensure accuracy and usefulness for planning and investment decisions.

This 12-month fixed-term role focuses on data quality, collaboration with stakeholders, and supporting infrastructure planning and development for our communities.

Qualifications

• Experience working with data, databases, GIS, asset management systems, or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
• Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Confidence using Microsoft Excel and other digital systems.
• The ability to build positive relationships and communicate effective with a range of stakeholders.
• Experience with GIS, asset management software, or local government systems would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Maintain asset data across a diverse portfolio including stormwater, transport, parks, facilities, buildings, land and solid waste assets.
• Work with asset mapping, asset management systems, and financial data to ensure information is accurate and accessible.
• Support planning, maintenance and investment decisions through high-quality data.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to improve data quality and accessibility.
