Job summary

Orion is seeking an experienced Asset Data Analyst on a 12-month fixed-term contract in Canterbury. You will work with asset and as-built data, build dashboards, and turn complex information into clear insights that drive action across the business.

You’ll dig into data quality, identify trends, automate reporting, and collaborate across teams to deliver practical insights. Proficiency in Power BI, SQL, Python, and a curiosity for AI are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Experience turning complex data into insights.
• Experience with Power BI and SQL and/or Python.
• Interest in automation and AI.
• Strong communication across teams.
• Experience with GIS, Maximo or asset-intensive environments would be useful.

Responsibilities

• Build useful dashboards, reporting and analysis while identifying data quality issues, trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Turn messy data into clear, trustworthy insights and find smarter ways to automate reporting and validation.
• Bring natural curiosity and strong analytical skills, with experience using Power BI, Power Query, SQL and/or Python; GIS or Maximo experience would be a bonus.
• Explore practical ways AI can improve how we analyse, validate and work with data, reducing manual effort and making processes more efficient.
• Work across teams to understand their data and reporting needs, turning these into useful insights that support better decisions.
