Job summary

Fulton Hogan is looking for a Plant Operator to join the Auckland asphalt production team. You will help run the plant, operate loader equipment and keep production moving safely and to specification.

This hands-on role requires focus on safety, attention to detail and strong teamwork to support daily operations, inspections and documentation in a busy site environment.

Qualifications

• Full Class 1 licence minimum; Class 2 helpful.
• WTR endorsement and ability to operate mobile plant safely.
• Experience or exposure to civil asphalt, bitumen or aggregate operations.
• First Aid certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate loader to move raw materials and feed asphalt plant.
• Monitor temperatures, gauges and mix settings for production.
• Assist blending of aggregates, bitumen and additives to meet specs.
• Complete pre-starts, routine inspections and daily production records.

We’re looking for a Plant Operator to join our Auckland asphalt (production) team. This is a hands-on role where you’ll help run the plant, operate loader equipment, and keep production moving safely, efficiently and to the right standard. In this role, you’ll support the day-to-day operation of our asphalt plant, helping to ensure production runs safely, efficiently and to specification. Your responsibilities will include starting up and shutting down the plant, monitoring temperatures, gauges and mix settings, and assisting with the blending of aggregates, bitumen and additives to meet production and quality requirements. You’ll also operate the loader to move raw materials, manage stockpiles, feed materials into the plant, and help prevent contamination.

You’ll also carry out routine inspections, complete production and quality records, maintain housekeeping and environmental controls, and work closely with drivers and the wider team to keep the site running smoothly. It’s a technical, hands-on role where safety, attention to detail and consistent plant performance matter.

Operate Loader equipment safely and confidently move raw materials, manage stockpiles and feed asphalt plant.

Operate the asphalt plant safely, efficiently and in line with production requirements.

Monitor plant performance, mix settings and product quality to help ensure asphalt is produced to spec.

Complete pre-starts, routine inspections, shutdown checks and daily production records.

Maintain site housekeeping, environmental controls and support basic fault identification and maintenance.

A Full Class 1 licence at minimum, with Class 2 helpful but not the main focus of the role.

A WTR endorsement and confidence operating mobile plant safely around active production areas.

Experience or exposure to civil asphalt, bitumen or aggregate operations.

A First Aid certificate preferred, though not essential.

A safety-focused, reliable approach and the ability to carry out the inherent requirements of a hands-on plant role.
