Job summary

Aotearoa New Zealand Association of Social Workers is seeking a reliable Baker's Assistant for our busy artisan bakery. This hands-on role suits someone who works efficiently, stays organized and takes pride in quality baked goods.

You’ll start between 5:00am and 6:30pm, five days per week, with weekend availability essential. Responsibilities include mixing, shaping doughs, preparing cakes, monitoring proofing, weighing ingredients, and maintaining a clean kitchen.

Qualifications

• Bakery or food production experience preferred.
• Interest in cakes, sweets and quality baked goods.
• Attention to detail and presentation.
• Able to work quickly and stay organised.
• Reliable and comfortable working independently or in a team.
• Comfortable with early starts and being on your feet.

Responsibilities

• Mixing, prepping and shaping doughs and batters.
• Helping produce cakes, slices and other sweet items.
• Preparing sandwiches, rolls and cabinet food.
• Monitoring proofing and baking.
• Weighing and measuring ingredients.
• Keeping the kitchen clean, organised and stocked.
• Following food safety and hygiene standards.
• Helping the team during busy periods.
