Job summary

TVNZ is seeking an AR and Virtual Production Graphics Designer to create dynamic 3D graphics for 1News, Current Affairs, Sport and other studio productions. You will report to the Blacksand Design Lead and contribute to visual ideation and production workflows.

You’ll design AR and virtual production graphics, support sports and content teams, and help integrate graphics into studio environments while maintaining brand standards and collaborating with a talented graphics team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in 3D, virtual production, Unreal Engine industry area, and using a 3D application such as Cinema 4D.
• Strong Unreal Engine skills and ability to design AR/VR graphics for live studio productions.
• Experience applying 3D design in a production pipeline (modelling, texturing, animation, lighting).

Responsibilities

• Design creative 3D AR and virtual production graphics for TVNZ studio productions.
• Support 1News, Current Affairs and Sport graphics needs and other studio productions.
• Collaborate with the design team and stakeholders to ideate and deliver graphics concepts.
• Work within brand guidelines and templates and adapt to different production briefs.
• Communicate creative concepts clearly and deliver polished final graphics.

Help redefine how audiences experience live television. Reporting to the Blacksand Design Lead, you'll create dynamic AR and virtual production graphics for 1News, Current Affairs, Sport and other studio productions, bringing stories and ideas to life in visually compelling ways.

The opportunity – Te tūranga

As AR and Virtual Production Graphics Designer reporting to Blacksand Design Lead youwill be designing creative 3D augmented reality and virtual production graphics across TVNZ's studio productions and graphics workflows.

While primarily servicing the graphics requirements for the 1News and current affairs story teams, you'll also be supporting the sport and content production and some commercial opportunities to integrate virtual graphics into our studio environments.

You've got an exciting role to contribute to the creative environment and support the wider graphics team with concepts and visual ideation and enjoy working in a collaborative team environment.

To be successful, in this role we are looking for the following

• Strong Unreal Engine skills
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a relevant 3D, virtual production, Unreal Engine industry area, and using a 3D application such as Cinema 4D.
• Excellent 3D design and composition skills and applying them in visual story telling
• Experience working in a 3D design workflow and working through each part of the pipeline to create the final product (modelling, texturing, animation, lighting etc)
• Virtual production tools understanding would be beneficial – greenscreen integration and hardware keying tools, lens calibration.
• Ability to work within brand design guidelines and templates.
• Able to communicate creative thoughts and ideas to others.
• Self-starter, pro-active, passionate to work across design projects of all sizes.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Can work flexibly across multiple different tasks in a day.
