Job summary

Hawke's Bay Regional Council – Taradale, North Island is seeking a Catchment Worker – Weed boat Operator to join our team. This permanent, full-time role is based at the Taradale Depot and will operate across multiple sites to deliver aquatic weed control and support river and park maintenance.

You will operate weed boats, perform vegetation management, fencing and minor works, while keeping safety at the forefront.

Qualifications

• Our ideal candidate has experience operating plant and equipment in outdoor environments.
• Valid Class 1 Driver Licence and Day Skipper Certificate are required.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to complete records and documentation on time.

Responsibilities

• Operate one of Council's weed boats to deliver aquatic weed control across the Heretaunga Plains streams and rivers.
• Carry out river, drainage and regional park maintenance activities including vegetation management, planting and fencing.
• Ensure plant and equipment are operated safely, efficiently and in accordance with requirements.
