Job summary

Acorn Kia Business is seeking an enthusiastic person to join the team as an Apprentice Technician. The role offers hands-on training, a 3-year apprenticeship programme, and the chance to gain a recognised automotive qualification.

You will learn through classroom and practical training, servicing vehicles, diagnosing faults, and maintaining service records while working within a supportive workshop team.

Qualifications

• All we ask is that you have a genuine interest in motor vehicles and a desire to build a career within the automotive industry.
• Previous experience within the motor trade is not essential, as full training and support will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Service vehicles and carry out checks and maintenance in line with manufacturer guidelines.
• Carry out vehicle inspections and identify faults.
• Repair and replace faulty or worn components.
• Use a range of specialist tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Advise Service Receptionists and colleagues on any repairs or additional work required.
• Maintain accurate repair and service records.
• Follow health and safety procedures and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Work as part of a professional and supportive workshop team.

Training Provided

We are committed to supporting your development every step of the way. Through a combination of classroom-based learning, e-learning and practical, hands‑on training, you will receive the knowledge, skills and experience needed to develop both personally and professionally.

As our Apprentice Technician, your training and day-to-day duties will include:

• Servicing vehicles and carrying out checks and maintenance in line with manufacturer guidelines
• Carrying out vehicle inspections and identifying faults
• Repairing and replacing faulty or worn components
• Using a range of specialist tools and diagnostic equipment
• Advising Service Receptionists and colleagues on any repairs or additional work required

On successful completion of the 3 year apprenticeship programme, you will achieve a recognised automotive qualification and have developed the practical skills, technical knowledge and workplace experience required to begin your career as a qualified Service Technician.
