Placements24 is seeking Apprentice Electricians for a comprehensive training program in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. You will work under master electricians to support installation, testing, and maintenance of solar and renewable energy systems.

The role emphasizes safety, practical skills, and problem-solving in a growing sector. The program includes classroom and on-site training, and candidates should be eligible to work in South Africa and prepared to relocate if needed.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 with passes in Mathematics and Physical Science.
• Strong desire to become a qualified electrician, particularly in renewable energy.
• Good manual dexterity and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn and follow safety procedures meticulously.
• Physically capable of performing duties, including working at heights.
• Must be legally eligible to work in South Africa.
• Reside in or near Queenstown, Eastern Cape, or be willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Assist qualified electricians in installing electrical wiring, conduits, and systems for renewable energy projects.
• Learn to test electrical circuits and systems for functionality and safety.
• Support maintenance and repair of electrical equipment and components.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Properly use hand and power tools and electrical testing equipment.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Assist in troubleshooting electrical issues and implementing solutions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work site.
• Participate in all classroom and on-site training sessions.
• Follow instructions and guidance from site supervisors and mentors.
