Job summary

PickNZ is offering a fixed-term seasonal role at Tasman Village for the thinning season, from late November 2026 to mid-December 2026. The position requires physical stamina and reliability in a small family-run pear and apple orchard.

You'll climb ladders up to 2.5 meters, lift 16–20 kg as tasks require, and stand for long periods while performing thinning duties. Applicants should be prepared for a 40-hour week, Mon–Fri with occasional Saturdays, and travel to work as required.

Responsibilities

• Climb up and down a ladder at an approximate height of 2.5m for up to 8 to 9 hours a day.
• Manually lift between 16 kg and 20 kg as tasks require
• Be on their feet for 8 to 9 hours a day, twisting, bending, climbing, walking, and pivoting
• Follow health and safety practices including SunSmart Procedures, Standard Operating Systems for Thinning and other practices as appropriate
• Commit to working 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday and the flexibility to work Saturdays as required
• Drive to work

Fixed-term contract from late November 2026 to Mid-December 2026 Location: Tasman Village Wages: $24.00 per hour and contract rates available

We are a small family-run pear and apple orchard in the heart of Tasman Village. We are looking for motivated, hard-working people to work in our apple and pear orchard during the thinning season.
