Job summary

Gentrack is seeking a Director of Engineering APAC in Auckland to shape how engineering operates across the APAC region. You will lead multiple engineering managers and an Enablement team, setting clear priorities and delivering high-quality, scalable software.

You’ll work with leadership across Data, Integration, Operations, BAU and Projects to build an organisation capable of scale and continuous improvement, with strong governance and a culture of inclusion.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading multi‑team engineering organisations.
• Strong track record in people leadership, coaching, organisation design and change.
• Experience delivering complex enterprise software in customer-facing environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering across APAC
• Translate engineering strategy into priorities, plans and measurable outcomes
• Provide visible leadership across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and India
• Represent APAC Engineering in regional and global forums
• Build relationships across Product, Program Delivery, Service Delivery, Customer and Finance
• Develop leaders and teams
• Lead, coach and develop Engineering Managers and Enablement Team Leads
• Build a culture of trust, accountability, inclusion and continuous feedback
• Strengthen succession planning and workforce capability
• Attract, develop and retain exceptional engineering talent
• Improve engineering practices, tooling and developer experience
• Lift delivery and engineering performance
• Strengthen quality, reliability, security and operational practices
• Evolve team structures and leadership spans
• Support collaboration and mobility across APAC
• Lead AI-enabled software development adoption across APAC
