Job summary

Livestock Improvement Corporation (LIC) seeks a motivated Laboratory Leader to run the Animal Health Laboratory. You will guide a team, ensure high-quality services and compliance with ISO 17025, and support new analytical procedures that meet client needs.

You will champion health and safety, drive efficiency, and collaborate with the Diagnostics team to deliver cost-effective, reliable results for farmers and partners.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in a laboratory setting.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 17025 and quality systems.
• Ability to develop and train staff.
• Experience with health and safety compliance.
• Experience with budgeting and procurement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Animal Health Laboratory operations to ensure quality and safety.
• Develop and implement procedures and SOPs.
• Oversee staff workload planning and performance management.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 17025 and MPI PC2 standards.
• Collaborate with Diagnostics team and stakeholders to drive improvements.
• Manage lab consumables budget and CAPEX recommendations.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce costs and improve turnaround times.
