Job summary

Air New Zealand Limited is building world-class Android apps as part of its Digital team, delivering seamless experiences for customers worldwide. As an Intermediate Mobile Engineer, you will develop, test, and maintain Android applications powering millions of interactions each year.

Collaborate with Product, Design and Backend peers to turn ideas into engaging mobile experiences, using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and modern Android practices to ensure quality, reliability, and scalability.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Android development experience.
• Strong Kotlin and Jetpack Compose skills with some Java familiarity.
• Solid understanding of Android SDK, RESTful APIs and mobile architecture patterns.
• Experience with testing, version control, CI/CD and code reviews.
• Exposure to Swift or AWS is advantageous but not required.
• Interest in using AI tooling to enhance development workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain high-quality Android apps serving millions of interactions each year.
• Collaborate with Product, Design and Backend teams to translate ideas into mobile experiences.
• Improve app performance, reliability, and maintainability through clean coding practices.
• Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing across the squad.
• Own development tasks and deliver quality solutions while growing technical expertise.
