Job summary

Argenta is seeking an Analytical Supervisor to lead our Starting Materials QC team in South Auckland, with on-site parking. You will manage analytical testing, documentation, and continuous improvement while ensuring GMP-compliant releases for raw materials and packaging used in animal health products.

You will mentor a medium-sized team of chemists, coordinate with the Head of QC, and drive investigations and reporting, all in a fast-paced environment that rewards ownership and high quality

Qualifications

• GMP manufacturing laboratory experience required.
• Experience with wet chemistry and analytical testing.
• Understanding of raw material sampling and packaging.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations and HSE NZ.

We are in the animal health business, partnering with our clients in the areas of Research and Development (R&D) and manufacturing to produce pharmaceuticals for both farm and companion animals. About the role:

We are looking for an Analytical Supervisor to lead our Starting Materials QC team, who are dedicated to testing all raw materials and packaging used in the commercial manufacturing of animal health products. Working days are Monday to Friday. Reporting directly to the Head of QC, you will lead a team of analytical and review chemist, with support from Technical Leads.

Your key focus areas will be to lead, develop, and empower your team while working collaboratively to ensure the efficient release of starting materials compliant with GMP regulations. As a people leader, you will provide technical expertise in analytical testing of pharmacopeia, HPLC, GC and wet chemistry, while actively completing documentation updates, laboratory investigations and report writing. As a champion of health, safety, and quality, you will drive continuous improvement projects within your team to keep us one step ahead.

About you:

We are looking for a multitasker with excellent people leadership skills, including proven experience leading a medium-sized team. In a fast-paced environment with ever-changing priorities, your biggest challenge will be managing workflows while keeping all relevant stakeholders informed. We're looking for someone who champions continuous improvement and isn't afraid to challenge the status quo on how things are done.

Your background, experience and attributes will include:

• Relevant tertiary science qualification.
• Work experience within a GMP manufacturing laboratory environment.
• Sound technical knowledge of wet chemistry analytical testing and packaging knowledge.
• Understanding of sampling of raw materials.
• Knowledge of regulations associated with a pharmaceutical business as well as HSE NZ legislation.
• Highly organised with the ability to be flexible and resilient to change.
• Proven validation experience.
