Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Southern in Invercargill is seeking an experienced Anaesthetic Technician to join our state-of-the-art team at Southland Hospital.

You'll work alongside Anaesthetists, Doctors and Nurses to assist with surgeries and theatre setup, and may help administer medications. The role offers full-time or part-time options with a rotating roster and shifts around 8–10 hours.

The day to day down here

As an experienced Anaesthetic Technician, you know the drill.

• Working alongside our Anaesthetists, as well as Doctors and Nurses, you'll assist with surgeries, and the odd bit of Operating Theatre set up.
• You may even help administer blood pressure and other medications on occasion too.
• Working on a rotating roster basis, you'll find shifts are usually around 8-10 hours,
• So along with a stable full-time work structure you'll have plenty of room to get out and do life – especially since that beaming Southland sun has been known to stick around as late as 10pm!
• Servicing a broad catchment area of the South Island, Invercargill hospital will give you great exposure to a large amount of trauma cases, plus the ability to rotate across a wide variety of specialities within the hospital.
• In a smaller hospital you'll find plenty of opportunity to grow your skills and progress your career.
• Benefit from the wisdom of senior AT's or impart your own knowledge to help mentor the younger team, and if you're motivated to lead, you could move up, fast. Plus, you'll enjoy the latest, state of the art equipment and modern hospital facilities.

Salary Range This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the APEX or PSA CEAs and the salary will be in accordance with the AT Pay Scale, between $79,014 and $112,965 p.a dependant on relevant experience.
