Health New Zealand | Te WhatuOra is seeking an Anaesthetic Technician Team Leader for a permanent full-time role across our Christchurch campuses: Christchurch Public, Women's, Burwood, and Waipapa Hospital. The position offers a varied, challenging remit including rostering, quality assurance, and education.

You will lead and support dedicated clinicians, rotate with the anaesthetic teams, and have the option to join the on-call roster.

Qualifications

• Leadership and team coaching capabilities.
• Experience with rostering and staff development is preferred.
• Registration with the Medical Sciences Council of NZ (APC current) essential.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day Anaesthetic Technician service with Charge Anaesthetic Technician.
• Mentor junior staff and deliver education to the team.
• Provide clinical and technical assistance to anaesthetists and ensure safe service delivery.

We're looking for an Anaesthetic Technician Team Leader tojoin our team on a permanent full-time basis. This is a varied andchallenging role which includes rostering, quality assurance, education (postand pre-qualification), development of the service as well as providingprofessional, skilled clinical and technical assistance.This opportunitywill see you rotating across our Christchurch campuses - Christchurch Public,Women's, Burwood and our new Waipapa Hospital. There is also the option to jointhe on-call team.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Workingclosely with the Charge Anaesthetic Technician for the day-to-daycoordination of the Anaesthetic Technician service
• Ensuringservices run smoothly and safely while role-modelling best practice
• Mentoringour junior staff and providing education to the team
• Theprovision of clinical and technical assistance to the anaesthetist

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring strong clinical expertise, leadership capability, and a collaborative approach. You will be able to demonstrate:

• Extensiveknowledge and experience in all aspects of providing assistance to theAnaesthetist
• 3+years' of clinical experience is highly desirable
• Soundknowledge of a range of anaesthetic equipment
• Previousmanagement or supervisory experience would be advantageous
• Knowledge of te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori OR a commitment to startingyour journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
• Registrationas an Anaesthetic Technician with the Medical Sciences Council of NZ withcurrent APC (or eligibility to obtain) is essential
