Job summary

Airbus New Zealand is seeking an Aircraft Technical Lead to provide technical oversight and leadership for specialist maintenance of the RNZAF T-6C Texan fleet at Ohakea. You will ensure airworthiness, signatory responsibilities, and timely turnaround of aircraft and components for the RNZAF Pilot Training Programme.

You will lead a team of technical experts, mentor staff, and coordinate with Maintenance Planners to deliver planned and unplanned maintenance within target labor costs while

Qualifications

• Experience working in a team environment with strong communication skills (verbal and written).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate workflow, allocate tasks, estimate labour hours and set clear expectations.
• Signatory responsibilities for technical work practices per manuals, procedures and regulatory approvals.
• Schedule priorities to meet forecast flying commitments with Maintenance Planners.
• Authorise timesheets and leave requests; review overtime requirements.
• Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and on-the-job training.
• Prepare defect reports, task certifications, RTS and IIVAS inspections; ensure airworthiness release.
